Discover the Events The Farm Estate Located in the Tuscan countryside, just outside the city of Montespertoli, Tenuta Corbinaia rises at an altitude of around 100 m above sea level. The estate covers over 34 hectares of vineyards and olive groves. Most of the vineyards have excellent exposure, facing south. The vines are pruned with the Guyot system and the vineyards are planted with an average density of 4500 plants per hectare. The yield is low, which ensures very complex and elegant wines. ABOUT US < OUR HISTORY Our history Tenuta Corbinaia is located in Montespertoli, a location that has always benefited from its proximity to Florence. The commercial importance assumed by the territory was one of the main reasons that attracted the noble families of Tuscany who began to invest considerable sums of money in the purchase of land, thus giving life, between the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, to a strong impulse to the cultivation of vines and the construction of numerous castles and splendid villas. This story is the setting for the birth of Tenuta Corbinaia. Initially a simple farmhouse dating back to the 19th century, immersed in a lush Tuscan landscape. In the early 1970s it was bought by Edo Rindi, a great lover of art and beauty, who bought the estate to reunite with his large family and finally realize his dream of producing an excellent wine. Later, the sons Brunello and Monica decided to follow in their father's footsteps, renovating it entirely and focusing not only on the organic production of wine and oil - which extend over 9 of the 40 hectares of the estate and with over 500 olive trees - but surrounding it with incomparable landscapes, creating a dream atmosphere in order to feel at the interior of a fairy tale of our times. Tenuta Corbinaia has become in recent years a point of reference for many illustrious personalities, from artists to singers, including Andrea Bocelli, for the perfect fusion between the natural landscape and the refined environments that have chosen it as the ideal backdrop for some of their works, all under the care and supervision of the art director architect Bartalini. THE ESTATE < THE OLIVE GROVE The olive grove Tenuta Corbinaia covers over 2 hectares of olive groves with about 1000 olive trees. The Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made through the cold mechanical pressing of our olives, which belong to the most precious Tuscan varieties: Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino. Thanks to the recent conversion of the farm, our EVO oil falls into the category of BIO products. ​ Extra virgin olive oil Organic from Corbinaia The oil obtained is characterized by a low acidity and a richness in polyphenols. The olive green color with golden reflections, a fruity taste, slightly spicy and with a pleasant bitter aftertaste. The Vineyard Ancora 2 THE ESTATE < THE VINEYARD ​ Tenuta Corbinaia includes about 25 acres of vineyards, located in the hills of Montespertoli that directly surround the Villa. Most of the vineyards have excellent exposure, being south facing. The varieties grown on the estate are Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot and Chardonnay and the wines produced have a modern style. ​ ​ The winery was recently renovated and most of the vineyards were replanted in 2010. The vines are pruned with the Guyot system and the vineyards are planted with an average density of 4500 plants per hectare. The yield is low, which ensures very complex and elegant wines. 1/2 The Harvest and Vinification The grapes are harvested manually in small boxes. After harvesting, the processing of the grapes begins with a selection, where the bunches are individually checked and those that do not comply with our quality criteria are discarded . All operations are carried out manually. The grapes of each vine are vinified separately. After fermentation in steel tanks, all our wines mature in French oak barriques for at least 12 months. The soil Tenuta Corbinaia is immersed in the Chianti area, always recognized as one of the best in the world for the production of wine. The soil is made up of aerated rock or strong stone. The "skeleton" is characterized by alberese and galestro, ideal for Sangiovese, and sandstone and clay in some vineyards to enhance the characteristics of the terroir. 1/1 1/2 Vine varieties The varieties grown on the estate are Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot and Chardonnay.
